Hope Mills, Uptmor & Siemer, Proprietors was established on November 6, 1882 in Teutopolis, Illinois.
Joseph Siemer and his son, Clemens J., bought out the Uptmor interests and changed the name to Siemer Milling Company.
A new feed mill was installed and the Gold Standard name adopted for animal feeds.
World War II brought increased demand for flour, followed by food aid for Europe under the Marshall Plan. A new office was built, along with 75,000 bushels of concrete grain storage.
Original steam engine operation replaced with electric power.
Flour mill modernization began, along with the long‑term relationship with Bühler AG of Uzwil, Switzerland.
Increasing demand justified doubling production capacity with a much larger new mill in Teutopolis, IL.
Storage capacity increased with construction of new, larger concrete silos.
A second mill was built in Hopkinsville, KY.
Siemer Specialty Ingredients is launched with construction of a Flour Heat Treatment plant in Teutopolis, IL.
All new corporate offices built in Teutopolis, IL.
Operations begun at a third mill, just west of Cincinnati, in West Harrison, IN.
A brand new test kitchen & innovation center is completed in our renovated century‑old mercantile building.
Rick Siemer celebrates 50 years with Siemer Milling. Henry Siemer is named Company President, representing the 6th generation of family leadership.
